For barber shops

Built for the chair.

1

Walk-ins, sorted

One-tap "Add walk-in" from your phone slots them in around your pre-booked customers. No double bookings on a Saturday rush.

2

Beard-club regulars

Your weekly fade customers get auto-reschedule prompts. They confirm in one tap, you keep your week filled.

3

Phone-first dashboard

Manage your day from the same phone you take your tip on. PWA installs to your home screen, feels like a native app.

The bit nobody enjoys

Walk-ins are brilliant until the chair is empty

Barbering runs on walk-ins in a way most trades do not, and that is a genuine strength. A regular who knows he can turn up on a Saturday and wait twenty minutes is a regular who never has to plan anything. Nobody sensible wants to take that away.

The trouble is what it does to the quiet hours. Tuesday at eleven is dead, Saturday is three deep, and there is no mechanism to move anyone from one to the other. Meanwhile the phone goes during a skin fade, the missed call never rings back, and somebody who wanted a beard trim at two ends up in the shop across the road.

Online booking does not replace walk-ins. It fills the gaps around them. Regulars who like to plan book their usual slot, new clients who would never walk in cold have a way to commit, and the midweek chair stops sitting empty because nobody could reach you.

More than one chair

Clients book a barber, not a shop

Anyone who has cut hair for a living knows this. A man who has found the barber who gets his fade right does not want whoever is free. He wants that person, and if that person is not available he will often wait a week rather than take a chance.

So each barber gets their own calendar, their own working hours and their own days off. They can charge differently too, which matters in a shop where a senior barber is £35 for a cut and someone newer is £25 for the same service. The client sees both, with the right price against each name.

What Solovi does differently from the big booking apps is the order it asks in. Most of them make a new client choose a barber before they have seen a single available time, which is an odd thing to ask of someone who has never been in. Solovi asks for the service and the day first, then shows the times, with the right barber already worked out. A returning client is offered whoever cut his hair last, in one tap.

Solo covers one chair, Local up to three, and Bespoke has no limit.

The demo runs on the same system a barber gets: services with real durations, a chair per barber, a deposit if you want one, a confirmation text.

The expensive problem

A no-show on a Saturday is not a small thing

A missed midweek appointment is annoying. A missed Saturday slot is a real loss, because that hour would have sold twice over and you cannot get it back.

You can take a deposit at the point of booking, set it as a percentage or a fixed amount, and vary it by service so a £15 dry cut is not treated like a two-hour restyle. You can also set a cancellation policy in your own words: how much notice you want, what a late cancellation costs, what a no-show costs.

When someone cancels inside that window, or does not turn up, the fee is charged automatically to the card they booked with. Solovi takes none of it. The whole amount goes to your account minus the standard card fee, because we make our money from the monthly subscription and nothing else.

You do not have to switch any of this on. Plenty of barbers run with no deposit at all and just want the diary to fill itself. It is there when a Saturday no-show has cost you enough times.

Being found

Nearly every new client starts with the same search

Someone new in the area types "barber near me" and looks at what comes back. What decides it is usually the same handful of things: how close you are, what the reviews say, whether the photos look like the haircut they want, and whether they can book without ringing anyone.

Most of that is your Google Business Profile, which is free and which we set up properly, with the categories, the hours, the services and the photos filled in and pointing at your own site. A profile that is complete and linked to a real website behaves differently in local results from one that is half filled in.

The website matters for the second search, the one where they have your name. A man who was recommended you by a mate searches the shop name, and what he finds should be your site with your prices and a book button, not a listing on a platform with three other barbers underneath it.

Worth being straight about the timing: local search takes months rather than weeks, and anyone promising faster is selling something. What changes on day one is that there is something of yours to find, and it belongs to you rather than to a booking app.

Your Google Business Profile, filled in and pointing at your own site, so the second search, the one with your name in it, lands somewhere that is yours.

Not just a diary

The shop needs to exist online, not just take bookings

A booking page with nothing around it is a diary with a URL. What actually brings a new man through the door is everything else: turning up when he searches, looking like a shop worth walking into, and having somewhere for the recommendation to land when a mate says the name.

So the monthly fee is not renting a booking form. It covers the whole of your digital presence, and the parts nobody thinks to ask about are the ones that do the work:

A site search engines can actually read.

Your pages are built on the server, so a crawler is handed the finished text rather than an empty shell it has to run JavaScript to understand. Your services, prices, hours and address are in the page itself.

Structured data, which is the version machines read.

The site publishes your business details in the standard format Google and others expect: what you are, where you are, when you are open. It is the difference between a page that mentions your hours and a page that states them in a way software can use.

Your Google Business Profile, set up properly.

Categories, service area, hours, photos and services, all filled in and pointed at your own site. This is free and it is the single biggest lever in local search, and most businesses have it half done.

Local SEO, and backlinks each month on Local and above.

Along with a report so you can see what changed rather than taking our word for it.

A listing in the Solovi UK directory,

featured above the businesses that are not customers, on every page that matches what you do and where you are.

And the newer one, which almost nobody is set up for. People increasingly ask an assistant instead of scrolling a results page. Those systems answer from pages they can read and cite: your own site, your Google profile, articles that mention you. A profile inside a booking app is not really a page in that sense, it is a record in somebody's database. Being readable is not something you can buy your way into later, and it is why a site of your own has quietly become more valuable than it was two years ago.

We cannot promise you a place in anybody's answers, and treat anyone who does with suspicion. What we can do is make sure there is something of yours worth reading, in a form that can be read.

What a barber shop actually gets

The site

  • Built for you on your own domain, not a profile on a platform.
  • Your service list with real prices, cut, fade, beard, hot towel, kids.
  • Photos of your work, which is what a new client is really judging.
  • Opening hours, address and a map, correct in one place.
  • Fast on a phone, because that is where the search happens.

The booking

  • A calendar per barber, with their own hours, services and prices.
  • Deposits and a cancellation policy, on if you want them.
  • Card payments through Stripe, straight to your bank, 0% commission.
  • Automatic reminders the day before.
  • Loyalty cards, because a tenth cut free is an old idea that still works.

Walk-ins carry on exactly as they are. You or your barbers can drop one into the diary in a couple of taps so the day's takings still add up at the end of it.

Frequently asked

We are mostly walk-ins. Is this any use to us?

Online booking is not there to replace walk-ins, it is there to fill the quiet hours around them. Regulars who like to plan take their usual slot, new clients get a way to commit, and you can still drop a walk-in into the diary in a couple of taps so the day's takings are all in one place.

Can each barber have their own diary and prices?

Yes. Every barber gets their own calendar, working hours, days off, service list and prices, so a senior barber at £35 and someone newer at £25 both show correctly for the same cut. Solo covers one chair, Local up to three, Bespoke has no limit.

Can I take a deposit to stop no-shows?

Yes, as a percentage or a fixed amount, and you can set it per service so a quick dry cut is not treated like a long restyle. You can also set your own cancellation window and what a late cancellation or a no-show costs. Those fees are charged automatically and go to you, minus the standard card fee. Solovi takes none of it.

How much does it cost?

A flat monthly fee: £19 for Solo, £39 for Local and £79 for Bespoke, with 0% commission on every booking. Sign up before 31 December 2026 and Local locks at £29 and Bespoke at £49 for as long as you stay. The only payment fee is Stripe's standard card rate, which every business pays and on which we add nothing.

Will this get me to the top of Google?

Not on day one, and be careful of anyone who says otherwise. Local search takes months. What we do is set your Google Business Profile up properly, build a real site on your own domain with your services and prices on it, and make sure the two point at each other. That is the groundwork; the ranking follows it rather than the other way round.

I already use Booksy. Should I switch?

It depends on where your clients come from. If a real share of your chair is filled by people who found you in the Booksy app, that discovery is worth paying for and we do not offer it. If most of your clients are regulars or come from Instagram and word of mouth, you are paying a marketplace to introduce you to people who already know you. Our side-by-side with Booksy goes through the numbers.
